It's time to start preparing your home for fall and winter, and help prevent any damage from the potential storms ahead.
INDOORS- Check all windows and doors to make sure there are no drafts. Have your furnace inspected regularly. Change the filter to your furnace. Check to ensure your carbon monoxide devices and smoke detectors have new batteries and are in good working condition. Make sure your thermostat has new batteries, and is functioning well.
OUTDOORS- Do a roof check. Make sure you don't have any loose or missing shingles. Get them replaced or fixed before winter hits. Clean out your gutters and check the downspouts. Disconnect the garden hoses, and store them inside. Drain your sprinkler systems to avoid any water damage to your home. Service your winter equipment now.
Preparing for the upcoming seasons can save you money from costly storm damage that could have been prevented. Once you have completed the maintenance, sit back and enjoy the beautiful changing seasons, knowing you are ready for whatever Mother Nature throws your way.
